Armando Russi

Film Critic, Colombia

Armando Russi is a film critic, programmer, and professor specializing in film theory, history, and criticism. He is a member of FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) and a journalist with a focus on cinema.
He previously served as the Representative of the Artistic and Creative Sector on the National Council of Arts and Cinematographic Culture of Colombia (CNACC).As a programmer, he has curated numerous exhibitions, including Cinema, Comedy, Artist, and Society for the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO); Classic CinemaModern Cinema, and Contemporary Brazilian Cinema for the Cinemateca de Bogotá; and Brazilian Cinema in Four Acts for the Brazil-Colombia Institute (IBRACO), among others.
He has taught at several institutions, including Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Agustiniana, and the National Film School of Colombia.
For over a decade, he has hosted the radio program Alucine 98.5 FM on the National University of Colombia’s radio station.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in Performing Arts and the Moving Image at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon
