Jonathan Murray is Professor of Film Theory, History and Criticism at the University of Edinburgh, UK, and a Contributing Writer for Cineaste magazine and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of British Cinema and Television. He is the author of The New Scottish Cinema (2015) and Discomfort and Joy: The Cinema of Bill Forsyth (2011), and co-editor of several scholarly anthologies, including (with Nea Ehrlich) Drawn from Life: Issues and Themes in Animated Documentary Cinema (2019).
