Kay Hoffmann

Kay Hoffmann is a freelance film journalist and film historian. He has worked at the Documentary Film Centre (Haus des Dokumentarfilms) in Stuttgart for nearly 30years. In 1989, he received his PhD degree in cultural studies from the University of Marburg on the topic of the electronization of movie production. From 1990 to 1992, he was assistant to the festival director Moritz de Hadeln at the Berlin International Film Festival. Colloboration on two DFG funded research projects on the history of German documentary film from 1895 to 2005. Organization of numerous conferences, film and television festivals and regular jury activity at festivals. Twelve published books and numerous articles in film magazines (e.g. Filmecho, Film & TV Kamera, Filmblatt, ray, Filmdienst).
