Leo Geisler

Leo Geisler, born in Berlin, studied philosophy in Freiburg and Berlin. He lived in Beijing and Hong Kong, but despite his best efforts, he never managed to learn Mandarin. He is now studying film directing at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (DFFB). His last film “The French Flamingo Fucker” screened in the medium-length competition of the Max Ophüls Festival 2024. He is the Kracauer Fellow of the Year 2024 and writes for Filmdienst, Jugend ohne Film, is an editorial member of Revolver and co-founder of the website Filmdämmerung.
