University professor at the Faculty of Sciences of Rabat (Morocco) and Doctor in Biology. President of the Moroccan Association of Cinema Critics and former member of the Association of the Seventh Art. Former director of the first National Festival of Amateur Cinema in Rabat (1986) and director of the stage writing script supervised in 1987 in Fez by the great Egyptian director Salah Abou Seif. Currently weekly columnist for cinema since 1995 at Al Alam newspaper. Author in 2001 of a book in Arabic entitled How was born the cinema in the world? Former member during the years 1999 and 2000 of the Commission of the Fund of Assistance to the National Cinematographic Production. Speaker in various conferences. Jury member in several festivals, president in 2005 of the jury of the critics at the Tangier National Film Festival, president in 2010 of the jury at the Moroccan Film Festival (CINEMAR) of Rotterdam, president in 2016 of the jury at the Mediterranean Short Film Festival from Tangier. Member during the years 2008 to 2012 of the reading commission at the National Society of Radio and Television (SNRT) and member between 2014 and 2017 of its Program Selection Commission (CSP). Most recently member of the jury of the National Film Festival of Tunisia and in the jury of FIPRESCI jury at The San Sebastian International Film Festival.
