Film Critic, Turkey

Film critic, art director. Born  in Zonguldak, Turkey. After graduation from the Faculty of Architecture at Middle East Technical University, worked as scenographer at  private and public theatres and art director in cinema and TV,  as the Director of Ankara and Istanbul Cinemateques. As the initiator of Istanbul International Film Festival, worked as Artistic Director for more than 10 years. He was appointed as the Artistic Director at Expo 92, Sevilla and at Habitat Conference in Istanbul  1996, as the Counsellor of the Minister of Culture and then as the Counsellor for Culture at Turkish Embassy in Paris. Created many international and interdisciplinary festivals in different cities of Turkey, taking the responsibility of Artistic Director; realised Turkish Film Festivals at NFT London, MOMA New York, Cineteca Madrid, among others. Juror at national and international festivals and freelance chronicler for several dailys and film magazines (currently Hürriyet Daily News, Birgün Pazar, Dokuz Eylül,T24).
