Meet the participants
Andy Stoeva (Bulgaria)
I am а film critic, poet and graphic designer, who studied animation at New Bulgarian University. Writing is present in every aspect of my life, whether it be short stories, articles, film reviews, scripts and poems. Some of my work has been published on various platforms, including Interpret, Cineuropa, Zippy Frames, L’Europeo, Kino and many others. I have attended several film criticism and festival journalism workshops such as GoCritic!, MIOB – LAB of Cultural, Creative and Festival Journalism, Talents Sarajevo and the Fipresci Critics Project at the Warsaw Film Festival.
Evgenija Arsova (North Macedonia)
I’m a dedicated film critic who has been part of the Gledaj.mk collective since 2018. In this role, I contribute to various magazines, where I immerse myself in the world of film analysis and critique. Alongside my work in film criticism, I’m currently in my third year of studying computer science. Balancing these pursuits, I also devote significant time to Latin dance, a passion I’ve pursued for more than 11 years. Throughout my dance career, I’ve achieved notable milestones, including being a finalist and world champion. This blend of academic, creative, and artistic interests reflects my commitment to both understanding and creating within multiple domains.
Pavla Banjac (Serbia)
Pavla Banjac is an English Language and Literature graduate currently pursuing an MA degree within the same field. She works as a translator at Proverbum and a film critic/film journalist at Filmoskopija. She is a member of an Art Cinema Collective at a Youth Center CK13 in Novi Sad where she curates a film programme and makes film-related podcasts. She is also a part of the Sarajevo Film Festival, Belgrade Auteur Film Festival and Novi Sad Film Festival press team, leading Q&A sessions, writing reports and film reviews, as well as editing festivals’ journals/catalogues.
Tobiasz Dunin (Poland)
I’m from Poland and I work as an editor. To be honest, I’m not sure how I got interested in Asian cinema or Asia in general, but I started watching movies pretty late – only when I started college. Since then, I have watched a lot of films, and visited a few festivals, which I absolutely love doing. When it comes to what movies I like, I try to keep an open mind, but I generally avoid horrors, musicals and documentaries.
Volodymyr Chernyshev (Ukraine)
His profound passion for film theory over the past eight years, culminated in an MA in Film Studies. He participated in festivals such as Festival de Cannes, Venice Film Festival, and Berlinale, where he covered various events. In 2022, he founded Feuilleton Media, a magazine dedicated to cinema and culture. Currently, he contributes to Ukrainian publications including druk.press and L’Officiel Ukraine while furthering his academic pursuits in Weimar cinema in Leipzig.
