Jury Statement on The Things You Kill:

The film we’ve chosen to award the FIPRESCI Prize plays with both the power of perspectives and the realm of nightmares, while being unafraid to make bold choices. It explores the psyche of someone who seems to have their life all figured out, while they have perhaps only been fooling themselves the whole time. With elegant, powerful but restrained direction, the film skillfully tackles its themes – the way masculine violence is transmitted through generations and the deeply hidden aspects of seemingly normal people – while offering its actors complex roles. The result is a remarkable work about one’s inner darkness brought into the light.
