FIPRESCI Jury Statement:
For its rich, well-structured storytelling, encompassing the legacy of communism in Bulgaria, the tragedy of the first COVID outbreaks and daily economic struggles within the contemporary European Union, as well as the moving performance of lead actress Gergana Pletnyova, we are presenting the FIPRESCI Award to Made in EU.
Statement (French translation): Pour sa narration riche et cohérente qui touche à la fois au passé communiste de la Bulgarie, aux tragiques débuts de la pandémie de COVID et aux défis économiques quotidiens au sein de l’Union européenne contemporaine, ainsi que pour la performance émouvante de l’actrice principale Gergana Pletnyova, nous décernons le Prix FIPRESCI à Made in EU de Stephan Komandarev.
