Dana Duma

Film Critic, Romania

 Film critic, PhD professor, Dana Duma is teaching at the National University of Theatre and Cinema ”I.L.Caragiale”, whose graduate she is. She published reviews, essays, interviews in the most important cultural magazines in and in the main Romanian newspapers. She was deputy editor in chief of the film magazine Noul cinema and she is now te editor in chief of the magazine „Film”and of the site revistafilm.ro.

  She has published the books Self portraits of Cinema, Gopo 100, Benjamin Fondane cineaste , Woody Allen,a bufoon and a philosopher, The History of Romanian Animation, Filmmakers in the Digital Era. She edited antologies such as Cinema 2000, Tendencies in European cinema, The Personality of Latin-American cinema. She has collaborated at the international books 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, ( Quintet Publishing, London), The New Romanian Cinema(Edinburgh University Press,2019) or Klassiker des rumänischen Films (Schüren Verlag, 2024) . She was member of FIPRESCI juries in international festivals (Berlin, Locarno, Valladolid, Oberhausen, Annecy, Toulouse, Venice,etc.). She is the secretary of the Romanian Film Critics Association, a part of the Union of Filmmakers .
