Held annually in Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea, the festival was founded in 1996 and it focuses on introducing emerging films, first-time directors, and exceptional independent cinema, with a special emphasis on works from Asian countries. The festival sections New Currents and Korean Cinema Today – Vision! have been restructured into two expanded strands: Vision – Asia and Vision – Korea, offering a broader and more insightful perspective on the current landscape of Asian independent cinema. Our jury will award a film from the Vision-Asia section.
