Bettina Schuler

Bettina Schuler lives and works as a freelance journalist (ray Filmmagazin, Frankfurter Rundschau, Krautreporter) and author of numerous books in Berlin. She studied theater, film, and television studies in Cologne and Paris, and subsequently completed postgraduate studies at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF München). She has served on FIPRESCI juries as well as on juries for the German Film Critics Awards.
In 2016, she founded the nonprofit organization Citizen2be, which advocates for the mental health of refugees through yoga and dream theory. For this work, she was awarded the Cross of the Order of Merit in 2025.
