Neil Young is a film-critic and curator/programmer originally from Sunderland (UK), based in Vienna since 2019.
Since 2000 his reviews and features have appeared in a range of international outlets including The Hollywood Reporter, Screen International/Daily, Sight & Sound, Tribune (London), The Independent, MUBI Notebook and Senses Of Cinema.
Formerly director of the Bradford International Film Festival (2011-15), he now works for various European film-festivals in programming and/or presentational capacities.
He also makes his own films (including Rihaction [2019]) and occasionally acts in those of others (including The Souvenir [2019] and Dracula [2025]).
