“Sébastien Lifshitz is a French screenwriter and director who teaches at La Fémis, a film school in Paris. He studied at the École du Louvre and has a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Paris. His films tend to focus on his Jewish and queer identity. He is a two-time recipient of the Teddy Award at the Berlin International Film Festival, which recognizes the year’s best films focusing on LGBT themes. In 2013 he won Best Documentary Film for Bambi, a profile of Marie-Pierre Pruvot, a transgender French entertainer.
