Alvise Mainardi

Born in Venice in 1997, Alvise Mainardi is a cultural journalist and film critic. A member of the SNCCI (National Syndicate of Italian Film Critics), he became an affiliate of FIPRESCI in 2026. His work focuses mainly on cinema and literature. Since 2015 he has covered the Venice Film Festival for NonSoloCinema.com and has also reported on the 70th and 71st editions of the Locarno Film Festival. In collaboration with schools and local associations, he promotes film culture through workshops and courses on visual language. His main critical interests centre on so-called slow cinema, film semiotics, and the intertextual relationships between cinematic and literary discursivity.
