Salome Kikaleishvili
Film Critic, Georgia
Salome Kikaleishvili is a cinema critic, journalist, and lecturer from Tbilisi, Georgia, with extensive experience in media and cultural journalism. She began her career as a freelance journalist for 24 Hours and contributed to the art magazine Tskheli Shokoladi, writing on contemporary culture and film. As executive editor of Cinema magazine, she specialized in international film festivals and cinematography.
Her roles have included editorial positions at Tabula, National Geographic Georgia, and content/web editor roles for the Tbilisi International Film Festival and the Georgian National Film Center. She also coordinated the ADAMI Media Prize for Cultural Diversity in Eastern Europe. Salome has taught Cinema History at leading Georgian institutions and Culture Journalism at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs.
She has been a FIPRESCI jury member since 2007, participating in numerous international film festivals, and served as an international voter for the Golden Globes. She is currently a full member of the European Film Academy and serves on the committee for the European Discovery – Prix FIPRESCI award. She is also part of FIPRESCI’s editorial and social media team.
Salome recently relocated to Lisbon.
