Motivation: “We chose this film because it tells the story of an everyday heroine who knows herself deeply, allowing herself to live in a world filled with both sorrows and joys. For its story, beautifully brought to life by the actors, who dance with the words in a script masterfully written by the filmmakers”.
One of the oldest and most influential film festivals in Latin America, the festival continues its commitment to innovation, critical dialogue and the expansion of Brazilian audiovisual culture through Competitive and Thematic Screenings, Industry Activities, Educational Programs and Multicultural Events. In partnership with FIPRESCI, the festival will invite three FIPRESCI members (one local, two international) with strong knowledge of Brazilian and Latin American cinema to give an award to the Kaleidoscope Section, a parallel competitive program dedicated to films distinguished by narrative sophistication, aesthetic experimentation and innovative cinematic language.
