Esteve Soler made his debut in film directing with the feature film 7 razones para huir, premiered worldwide at SXSW, with international premieres at the film festivals of San Sebastián, Karlovy Vary, Valladolid, Raindance, Málaga and BIFAN, among others. The film won the Gaudí award for best film of the year, according to the audience vote.

His debut at the cinema was the short film Interior. Família, runner-up for the Goya awards and selected for the international competition at Clermont-Ferrand, BFI London, Sitges, Vancouver, Fantasporto, etc.

According to the exhibition Ficcions enfora!, organised by the Institució de les lletres catalanes and the Institut Ramon Llull, Esteve Soler is one of the Catalan playwrights with the greatest dissemination internationally, with translations into 19 different languages and around a hundred premieres at theatres all over the world.

His theatre trajectory is summarised in two trilogies, the Indignation Trilogy (2007) –Against ProgressAgainst Love and Against Democracy– and the Revolution Trilogy (2017) –Against FreedomAgainst Equality and Against Fraternity.
