Ghandi Medal 2021
The “Gandhi Medal”, the film prize of the “CICT – International Council for Film, Television and Audio-visual Communication” (institution linked to UNESCO) has been awarded at the occasion of the 52nd “International Film Festival of India” in Goa to the film Lingui the Sacred Bonds by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun (Chad).
The jury motivated: “For its powerful description of the struggle of a mother for her daughter in Chad today. The film is stressing the necessity of the bonds between women and their valiant fight against the injurious abuse of patriarchy. The film raises awareness of gender issues as well as the fundamental right to education of women and girls, values promoted by the UNESCO.”
The Jury was composed of Isabelle Danel, Agnès Ravoyard, Xueyuan Hun, Ahmed Badjaoui, and Manouch Kadaamh.
